I asked Dave to be the subject of an interview I had to do for school some time ago. He was very kind to agree and we ended up talking for nearly an hour.

I’ve been lucky enough to talk with him and see him speak a number of times since then.

It was funny to meet him all the way there instead of here in Vancouver.

I called him an internet celebrity.

He was ranting about proper web design in a pub in London. That’s been a great show. The guy knows how to talk :)

I want to thank him for csszengarden, for making the web a better place, for writing his book and making it easier to teach, and for being so dam good and nice about all of it.

I met Robert after co-presenting during a lightning talk at Northern Voice ‘05. I said, hey, I read you. He said, hey, I read you. And that was that.

Dave is one of those people who gets things done with style and grace and technical rigour not to mention he’s a CSS and Web Standards and design maven! I am forever indebted to him for the fantastic design he did for Urban Vancouver.
